Steven sent me this link and in keeping with my exhortation below concerning the Responsibility to Share, I thought I'd pass this along. It's a piece 60 Minutes did on the Millennial Generation entering the workforce and what that looks like. It gives some great insights into the minds and values of the demographic as well as what companies must do to attract and keep this age group. To use Steven's word, it is a bit "scary" some of the findings but it's very interesting and will be even more so how these concepts play out in the next decade or so.
If you are a Millennial yourself, a parent, a youth worker, a teacher, or a pastor... check out the entire 13 minute video here. It's worth the watch.

That's a little shocking. As a parent of a Millennial, I'd like her to think I raised her a little differently but I did always try to build up her self esteem because mine was always so low. It will be interesting to see what happens in her life. Do you think "Christian" Millennials may be a little different?
I don't know... I mean, I think there are exceptions to every study and we have to be careful to remember that these are just snapshots. I don't think I'd make the statement that "Christian" Millennials are different just because they are raised "Christian. Those values should shape the way parents interact and bring up their children but often times they do not.
I do think we have to work harder against these trends to put stronger values in our kids that more reflect attitudes of selflessness, generosity, and service to others.
I found this response rather true, if you'll pardon the language. I tend to agree Matt's generalizations about 60 Minutes and the typical demographic that views it.

David,
Thanks for the link. I thought Matt's response was well put. I do however see some truth in the 60 Minutes piece. The thing I hated about it though (and I think Matt is right on about 60 Minutes) was that there wasn't really the incredible positive aspects of the Millennial Generation. They are getting the job done and I believe that if there is a Greatest Generation, then this is without a doubt the smartest.
