So this week at CMC, our focus is on spiritual disciplines. I genuinely think it takes a lifetime to master the spiritual disciplines at least that's been my experience. Anyway, today our students are spending the day in solitude and silence. Last night, I came across a great snippet in the new Catalyst Groupzine. It was in the introduction and the editor was referencing the rest of the content.
Their stories remind me that in order to hear God's call I must spend more time listening in His presence than talking. I must be willing to go without, so he can build me within. I must give myself to God's call, like Christ gave Himself to His Father's call. I must serve with my gift, so Christ's message remains untainted. And I must pursue with confidence, so that I feel God's pleasure when I pursue my calling.

John 5:19 (TNIV)
Jesus gave them this answer: "Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.
Or as some say, "Receive from God, then give it away." Good stuff.
Lindsey here from CMC. Awesome day of solitude! I say it was well needed after being on tour with all the CMCer's for 2 weeks. Can't wait to read more danislinus! Ciao
