Some things take a while to catch up... Some prayers are prayed with a sincere heart but without feeling at the time. Then God answers you. It may be weeks, it may be months. Craig Groeschel spoke at Catalyst on being a Practical Atheist. It's where we believe God exists but we live as though he does not. I prayed that God would disturb me and he has. I'm gripped by the gap between what the Word says and how we "do" church. I'm tired of doing church... I want to be the church. Craig prayed at the end of his session and I shared this with a church today here in Alabama but really it was more a prayer for myself than it was anyone else.
May God divinely disturb you so that you you’re hungry to seek the heart of God and repent before His holiness. May God disturb you so that next time you eat, you are reminded of those who have no food. May God disturb you that your ministry is great, but your neighbors next door are not saved, and you don’t know their names. May God disturb you if ever you become a full time pastor, and a part-time follower of Christ.
